Not much to talk about // One more kit reveal

I have been rather busy with getting things ready to leave this weekend for our last summer getaway. I’m excited for it because Brodie gets to race his R/C cars and I hope he does well! The girls will watch, reluctantly sometimes, as long as there is something in it for them. Adventureland should be fun on Monday, then it’s back to normal everyday life. I am trying to print a bunch of photos on Persnickety Prints so that they may get delivered on Tuesday when we return home. We shall see…

I have been not-so-patiently waiting for the Scrapbook Circle kit reveal for a week now. Lisa says it should be revealed tomorrow, so I’m stoked for that! It was early last month and I missed the add-ons, so I am really wanting to be on time this month!

The other bummer about today was that I missed the Blowout Sale at Studio Calico! I was so bummed when I saw the sale because everything was already gone, but there were SEVERAL older kits and add-ons that I would like to have had. Oh well…no use crying over spilled milk, I suppose. I did get all the add-ons this month for the new September kits for both SC and Cocoa Daisy, so I should be set for scrapbook stuff for awhile! *giggle* When did that ever stop me before, though, eh??

Kit Reveals and the rest of the week

Both the Studio Calico and Cocoa Daisy kit reveals for September were a success. I got everything I wanted in them, so that’s a plus!

The rest of the week, I am packing for a little getaway this coming Labor Day weekend. We will be out of town r/c racing, the boys are leaving early Friday morning, then the girls and I will leave Saturday late morning to join them. R/C racing is usually practice on Friday, heat races on Saturday and mains on Sunday and will be that way for this event as well. The girls and I will have a leisurely day on Saturday and then go see the mains on Sunday. Monday we plan to go to Adventureland as a family for our last summer vacation! We will probably not get another vacation until November when we go to Florida for the National Indoor R/C Championships that we’re hoping to see Brodie win down there! Anyway, I digress…I will finish the laundry and get packing done the rest of this week and hopefully get in some scrapping time as well.

As for tonight, I’m tired. Very tired. So I will head to bed and try to rest up so that I can have some scrappy playtime tomorrow!

Silhouette Cameo Love!

I ordered my Silhouette Cameo tonight and it should be here by Wednesday!! I ordered it from Amazon and did the free trial of Amazon Prime for 2-day shipping! I can’t remember the last time I was so excited to get a new tool for scrapbooking! Now I just need to figure out a place to put it in my scrap area so that I can use it EASILY and OFTEN!!

Scrapping with a friend is SO much fun!

This weekend, Kathy and I got together and scrapped. As always, so much fun! I got quite a bit done, still going here, but have to go get the kids from their dad’s, so I wanted to get a few layouts uploaded. I thought I may have some trouble with this August Santa Fe Sunset kit from Cocoa Daisy because it was travel themed and not really my colors, but so far so good. I am being pushed out of my comfort zone and figuring out I love it!

The Beginning

New Day, New Way

I’m really excited about scrapping again for the first time in a little while. Don’t get me wrong, I always love it and want to do it, but I’m truly excited to embark on a new way. I’ve decided that mixing it up will make me the happiest right now. I really want to keep going with the kids’ books, but I also need to make it more fun to scrap! I am out of my comfort zone a bit here…and it will be hard to not revert back, but my plan is to just scrap randomly with the photos that speak to me and throw in an old set every once in awhile.

The part that will be hardest is not having them in albums.

I can put them into my 12×12 boxes and write names and dates on them to put into the albums later, right?

I’m convinced. …. I think. LOL

More festival food // Tomorrow is a new day

Corndogs at the fair

LOL The look on Lee’s face makes me laugh. He was trying to be funny like he was having a hard time not eating the corn dog, I told him he had to take a picture for instagram. He was trying to be patient. LOL

We also ate chicken and noodles at the local VFW, which they have every year as well. Yum! It was a great night!

Now, on to tomorrow…well, in a little less than an hour…

I have been convinced by the gals at Cocoa Daisy that I need to STOP scrapping chronologically and just go with the flow. This is a really hard rule for me to break because I have been scrapping since the only Creative Memories days when that’s the way you did it. My issue with it lies in the fact that I need to keep my kids’ albums in order and my need to fill them up so that the pages aren’t out of order.

Several of the ladies there made good points that scrapbooking is so much more fun when you scrap what you want to. I have been really having a hard time getting situated to scrap and actually cranking out layouts lately. I get one done per day, but there used to be days when I would get 12 done. I think a big part of the problem is the fact that I’m so burnt out on the “old” photos now. Back then, these photos were much more current. I guess for now I’m just going to put away the old layouts I have done and then skip a few protectors here and there so that I can work in old photos when I want to, then just move on to current stuff.

I still feel a little apprehensive about this, but I’m going to do it, I really think it will help me to be a better scrapper and tell the stories that are fresher in my mind.

Oh…and tomorrow will mean more festival food as well. *giggle*
