Sunday Sampling

Crafty day for me again. The temperature dropped 15-20 degrees here, so the boys wanted to go R/C racing today. I get another scrapbooking day, YAY! I will upload the layouts I finish today here.

First, we have a photo of my oldest from 2007 swimming at a local waterpark with her best friend. I used a layout from Shimelle Laine as inspiration for this one. Some days when my mojo just seems to be lacking, it’s so fun to scraplift favorites!

The only other I finished today was this one of my youngest daughter and her friend, Payton, having a race at the local apple orchard.

Trying to stay cool

It’s supposedly going to be like 105 degrees and horrible humidity here today, then maybe rain tonight and cool off a bit. I’m inside staying cool yet another day.

Brodie’s team lost their ball game this morning…sort of a welcome relief as the boys were all just tired of it and so hot. It was a bummer, but I can’t say I’m THAT bummed to not be out in this heat anymore!

I’m going to try and do a few challenges and get ready for the layout portion of my Big Picture Class. The past 10 days we have had daily prompts to get pictures and stuff ready, tomorrow starts the next 10 days layout portion and I really want to be ready because I love this class with the CK Dream team. I’m also going to scraplift a few of my favorite layouts because that’s so mindless and today I don’t feel like I have a lot of activity going on in the ol’ brain. LOL Maybe a few sketch challenges too! We shall see…I will share when I have something.

It’s been quite a day

Started out an eventful day as my oldest and I had a long talk. Serious talk about attitude, boyfriends, consequences, rules…all sorts of things. Never easy to talk to her as she wants to be argumentative. I love her. She is so much like me. All but the super stubborn thing…I am stubborn, but she takes the cake! Just sayin’. We finally came to common ground, though, she apologized. I think more mom/daughter time will do her good…that and just being sure that she hears me and understands what I expect.

Brodie’s team lost their baseball games tonight. Both of them. Bummer. They did a good job in the tournament team, just aren’t used to playing together yet and they haven’t gelled. The regular game fell apart rapidly…they just were worn down after already playing for 2 hours in the heat.

Tonight, I have to get some sleep because he has an early game tomorrow morning (well 10am is early for us…we have to be 30 minutes away for it at 9:15) LOL. I’m going to work a bit here in my crafty space because it makes me happy and helps me wind down, then heading to bed. Hayli and I get some mommy/daughter time in the morning as we watch ball games. That makes me happy.

In other good news, I got my Studio Calico July Kit and it’s very yummy! I’m hoping my pictures come from Persnickety Prints tomorrow and then I should have happy mail a couple days next week as well as two other kits arrive.

More creativity

I’ll post the rest of the layouts as I finish them today as well. I am working on several as I sit here in my crafty space today. It’s far too hot to go outside at all, everyone is just lazy inside here today. Still working with the Cocoa Daisy June Kit. Here is the first one of my son back in 2006, his first time roasting his own hot dog. There is now journaling above the left pictures by the bingo card, but I had already snapped the pic.

Another for Jessalyn’s album from October 2005. Feels so good to get some of this old stuff scrapped.
